About the Fellowship


Working do Develop Better Commnity Health Center Leaders

The Department of Health Policy and Management of the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC HP& M), the Greater Midwest Association of Primary Health Care (GMAPHC), and the Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved (KAMU) have developed a regional program for individuals aspiring to positions of executive directors and senior managers of Community Health Centers in Midwest regions five and seven. These states included in these two regions are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Individuals working in those states are eligible for a $3,000 tuition scholarship sponsored by the GMAPHC. The scholarship is available for the class that Kicks-off in January of each year. This class is reserved for members of the GMAPHC.

Individuals from other states are welcome to apply for the programs which kick-off at other times of the year. See main page for the schedule.

This fellowship program will provide education and skill development in key areas of management competency and executive leadership. In addition assisting existing health centers with succession planning, the fellowship also provides management resources for new centers.
